From Marin and Pippin siding with the Ents, Frodo and Sam being guided with Gollum, and Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn fighting at Helm’s Deep, I enjoyed all of it.

I am excited to finishing the trilogy with Return of the King!

Before watching this movie, I dived into the director’s previous work, and I find fascinating how comedy and horror can relate to each other.

I wish I had read the book before watching the movie to understand just how much influence the director put on this take of the story. When I started watching it it almost felt like it was going to be a horror movie. I think it fell under the same category as Poor Things, in my opinion.

I think the movie is unnecessarily long. The first half of the movie has a really weird pacing that bored me a little bit. The second half I found more interesting.

Overall, the movie was a good watch, but not something I would expect to watch again.

It didn’t really hit me when Hamnet dies, it was until Agnes gets to see the play that Shakespeare created in honor of their son that just opened the tear stream. It’s the way that he puts himself in the place of his son as the one that was taken by the plague that I find deeply moving. The pain, the helplessness, the sorrow, he would take it in a heartbeat if it meant that Hamnet could live.

And, how Agnes reacts right on the last scene where Hamlet (the actor) is dying. She reaches out to him with the same maternal instinct that she had when she tried so hard to keep him alive all those months ago.

Another thing that touched me was how we’ve been to a lot of places in the UK that look similar to where the movie takes place. I feel very blessed and lucky to have had the experiences that I’ve lived. I don’t know how much time I have left, but I really wish that I can continue to enjoy it as much as I can with the person I love the most in the world.

Ah, what a great movie.

I love this era of Robert Pattinson going for the most unhinged roles. His and Zendaya’s acting was amazing.

I think the death that hit me the most was Mike’s. He just wanted to be a musician but didn’t get the chance to follow his dream because of the frustrated dreams of his family.

I hated the dad SOOO MUCH. The actor did a really good job at portraying the stereotypical macho, “boys don’t cry” kind of father.
