I feel almost nostalgic about how I used to interact with my devices. I think this article makes a great point where when the focus is just exploring and creating something, the limitations are almost as important as the tools you use to create it.

It was our first Christmas in the UK, AND hosting for family and friends. We had such a good time that I am going to be very sad when they all go back to their respective homes. T0T

Turned 31 this month! Sofi got me a red velvet cake, which I really like!

Visited Mexico after almost 3 years! Things are so different, but I had the chance to visit my hometown Morelia during Day of the Dead decoration. It was a dream come true.

It’s our anniversary month, and we visited Bath on the 250th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s birthday!

We went to the movie theater that is in the Marina, and stopped to appreciate the sunset.

Visited my cousins in Malmo. My grandma and aunt visited my family in Sweeden and it was such a great time. It had been years since the last time that we were together.

We visited the Lewes Castle, and caught a photo of Sofi taking a picture of some pretty flowers!

I loved how in my head I had a much different idea of where the game was going to take me. The main character’s story continues to gets worse, yet in the end, what caused all of the issue wasn’t a conspiracy or anything of the kind, but a father not knowing how to grieve their own child. I wasn’t expecting to like the game so much. I started playing it for a couple of hours and left it without much progress, but once I really sat and played it, I was glued to the it.

“You know it’s a mistake when it’s me who is making it. It’s always the wrong thing when it’s me who’s saying it” is one of the more devastating lyrics I’ve heard in a while. Such an emotional song.

Not settled on this picture being the monthly picture, but I took this picture of a really cool mural/graffitti that I found on my walk to pick up a lamp I bought from the Argo’s website.
I went almost all the way from downtown Brighton, to the outskirts of Falmer. Distances are a really weird concept.

We met a fox that kept coming to meet us at the Airbnb we stayed at when we arrived to Brighton! I want to see it as a good omen that we are going to be good here.

The last remnants of our life in Pereira. I took this picture on the day we left Pereira. Looking back on it still makes me a bit sad because we really made our home there.

Picture of Saki deeply sleeping on her self-procclaimed chair. One of our last pictures at our Pereira apartment!

Our New Year’s dinner!

This is technically an October picture, but I am putting it as the November pic because it’s a painting of me as if I was the cover of Porter Robinson’s Nurture album. This was my birthday gift from Sofi, and I absolutely loved it.

Selfie at the top of La Linea, the pass through the central mountain range between Pereira and Bogota. The weather was great! Lots of wind and a great view.

Sofi taking a picture of me taking a picture of her during our Mexican Party celebration!

One of my favorite coffee places in Pereira <3

I organized a team building activity for my team in which we visited the Cocora’s Valley. I had been here once before, but never to the lookout point where I took this picture.

She is the love of my life. I am so lucky to be able to share my life with her <3

It was our first time visiting Europe! I loved this picture I took of Sofi while at an art exhibition that we really liked.

We have been practicing the Stay command with Saki. She is so good at waiting for her treat!

I visited SFO for GDC this year. I found a Bonsai store with a really cute sign.

A fighting games night with some friends at the office.

Naga and Saki at the start of the year.

We went to a glamping in Colombian, got stomach sick, and the day started with me in the bathroom haha. This is the view from the toilet.

My birthday cake!

Cat with a moustache and eyebrows.

My Naga sleeping while having a sun bath.

My Saki being really sleepy before going to bed.

A really cool mural in São Paulo.

Sunset view from the top of the Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

Picture of me on my first motorcycle.

Sunset view from our first apartment!

We went to Bogota’s gold museum and I really liked these masks.

Saki’s least favorite time of the month.

We no longer live here, but I loved how in the security camera we installed I could see a very attentive Saki.

On our Mexico trip we visited my grandparents home and while walking around downtown I found this bougainvillea tree. I love its flowers.

I finally got to see MCR live, who are one of my favorite bands. Gerard Way is amazing.

One thing I love about Colombia is the amount of colorful birds it has. We have found birds with the color of the Colombian flag and I find that very cool.

Some friends of ours opened a mexican restaurant near our home and they prepared vegan pozole for us. It was super tasty!

This is the closest we have to a family picture where Naga and Saki are looking at the camera! We took it during our 9th anniversay (:

Parent's Love
Today I read a quote that I really liked about a parent’s love and I really related to it because of my current process on understanding my relationship with my parents.
For the first time in my memory, I was able to allow myself to accept my parents' love and care—not in the way I had once expected, but in the way they were able to give it. Something opened up inside me. It didn't matter how they could or couldn't love me. What mattered was how I could accept what they were willing to give.

Call of the Kraken, a Playdate game
I made my first Playdate game for the Ludum Dare Jam 55 and lived to tell about it.
The Playdate is a small fantasy console in which one can develop games using their SDK. The cool thing about the console is that it has a crank that you can use in your games. For development, you can choose to either work with Lua or the C language.
I’ve had my eyes on this device for a few months now, so when I saw them for sale at GDC, I bought one without hesitation. I also convinced a couple of Colombian game developer friends to buy one with the excuse that we would make games and at least get 1 USD in sales back.
A few weeks passed after my GDC trip, and the Ludum Dare was just around the corner. We decided it was a great opportunity for us to start developing on the platform, so we put up a team of three to make a small Playdate game.
You can test the game (and rate it if you feel like it) by going to the game's Ludum Dare Jam site .

I recently found out about the Micro Fiction Games Jam which, to quote its website, “it is intended to be a yearly game jam where people write and submit very short format games, on a theme, just for fun.” This year’s rules are Rule, Topple and Renew.
I made this small game to play when I wake up.
The Rules:
- Wake up
- Roll the dice (D6)
- If roll falls in the number of day of the week, sleep 5 more minutes
- Wait 24h and start again
- If Sunday (7), free pass, sleep 5 more minutes
